The Knoxville Federated Garden Club is hosting its annual Garden Gala Saturday, April 9 from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm at The Dyer Hudson Hall at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Knoxville.

Knoxville Federated Garden Club member Sandra Chrisman spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the event.

“This will be our 19th Garden Gala and we sponsor the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden. In 2002 we needed an event to help us earn some money to sponsor the garden and take care of it so we came up with the Garden Gala.

Chrisman talks about the featured speakers for the event.

“Our first speaker of the day is Paula Flynn, she will be talking to us about conifers. She has an extensive collection of dwarf and unusual conifers. Our second speaker is Ed Boelman who is the Customer Service Manager for Zanfel Laboratories and he will be talking to us about how to identify poison ivy. Our third speaker is Darcy Maulsby. She is from Lake City Iowa and she is a Master Gardener; her presentation is titled Iowa’s Amazing Garden Stories.”

The event starts at 9:00 am with the First speaker to start at 9:15 am.
