Pleasantville Schools will be hosting their Fine Arts Showcase Saturday, April 9 at the Pleasantville Event Center from 5:45 pm-8:00 pm. President of the Pleasantville Fine Arts Boosters Jennifer Latch spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the show.

“It’s fun where not necessarily the director is saying we are going to do this song. This is more of the kids choosing what they want to do. We get to showcase the kid’s talent and they get to show what they can do and it’s a fundraiser for the Boosters so we can support what they do.”

Brenda Goodale spoke about the goal of the Showcase

“I think it’s a couple of different things we want to do through this. First of all, we have some wonderfully talented kids in Pleasantville and we want the community to know what type of talent we have. This is an opportunity for these kids to get in front of people that may not have any other opportunities to see them do what they do.  We definitely want to elevate the fine arts and start those conversations and increase the support for our fine arts students.

The showcase will also feature visual arts prepared by Pleasantville Junior and Senior High students. A silent auction will run during the show and a live auction will run after the show with proceeds going to  the Fine Arts Boosters
