Norwalk Boys Tennis Places Fourth at Johnston

 

In their first meets of the season, Norwalk’s boys’ tennis squad placed fourth in a quad at Johnston Saturday.

 

The Warriors finally got their season underway Saturday competing with Johnston, Waukee, and Ankeny. Norwalk has two second-place finishes in the quad. Adrian Bush and Austin Mills took second place in Flight One Doubles matches, while Grant Kimball and Kaden Tomkins took second in Flight Two Doubles.

 

Norwalk will be back in action for their next meet at home against Little Hawkeye Conference foe Grinnell Tuesday.

 

Norwalk Girls Track Places 2nd at Valley, Has Coed Meet With Boys at Home Monday

 

Norwalk’s girls’ track and field squad finished second for the second consecutive meet at Des Moines Valley Saturday.

 

The Warriors finished with 96 points and second to only Waukee Northwest. It was another day, another two Drake Relays Blue Standards broken for Norwalk. The relay team of Claire Farrell, Marin Randall, McKenzie Koerselman, and Raegan Levi qualified for the Drake Relays in both the 800 Sprint Medley Relay and the 4×100 Meter Relay. Randall also placed first in the meet in the long jump with a length of 17’. Farrell also broke a meet record with a length of 56.34 seconds in the 400 meter dash. Norwalk has placed second in their first two meets.

 

The Warriors will have a quick turnaround and compete in their home meet Monday with the boys. Girls’ coach Charity Campbell says that it is always great to have her team competing on their home track. 

 

“Well, it will be exciting. The kids always love to compete at home and show their friends what they can do at home. So we are excited for that.”

 

The meet at Norwalk High School gets underway Monday at 4:30 PM.
