In the boys match, Pella Christian got wins from the top five spots in the singles lineup, and won three out of the five doubles matches. The top doubles team of Alejo Marcon and Isaac Natelborg grabbed the win in a third set tiebreaker, as did the number 3 doubles team of Toby Vander Molen and Carter Vos. Eagles Soccer Teams Fall to Indianola
The #4 ranked Pella Christian boys soccer team and the Eagles girls soccer team struggled against Indianola as both teams fell to the Indians.
Playing against the wind, the Eagles boys squad struggled to gain possession as Indianola netted all four of their goals in the first half. The Indians scored once on a penalty kick, while the wind carried a corner kick in for another goal. In the second half, Pella Christian tried to utilize playing with the wind by pressing Indianola, but couldn’t find the back of the net, as they fell 4-0.
The Pella Christian girls soccer team fell behind 2-0 in the first half, before Joslyn Terpstra found the net to pull the Eagles back within one at the break. The goal from Terpstra to make the score 2-1 would be as close as Pella Christian would get as Indianola netted two more goals in the second half to take the 4-1 victory over the Eagles.
The #4 ranked Eagles boys soccer team fell to 2-2 on the season with the loss and will look to get back in the win column on Thursday as they travel to Norwalk for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Pella Christian girls soccer squad fell to 1-3 on the spring and will have to wait until next Tuesday to get back on track when they host Grinnell.
