A race to remember a longtime guidance counselor at Pella Christian High School returns this weekend. The 15th Annual Gene Van Wyk 5k Memorial Run/Walk begins Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with registration, and race time at 9 a.m. on Eagle Lane.

Gene passed away from stomach cancer on April 1st, 1998, and the race is held annually to support Pella Christian High School and honor his memory. Find registration details here.
