The Knoxville Boys Tennis Invitational is today as the Panthers will host Pella, North Polk, Albia, Centerville, Chariton, Oskaloosa and Saydel at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts. While the Panthers have started out of the gates struggling, Coach Perry Bell tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he only expects his guys to give maximum effort, win or lose.
Bell: “If they try their best and show effort and keep their emotions under control. It’s like me. I need to keep my emotions under control as a coach, and sometimes they don’t like what we’re telling them. So if they keep trying and do their best that’s all I can ask for.”
Knoxville learned yesterday that the Panthers would get to host a class 1A district meet later in the season. Today’s contest is set to get underway at 9:00.
