PCM Boys Golf 7th at West Marshall, Girls 12th at Oskaloosa
Both of PCM’s golf squads competed on the road in invitationals Thursday with some encouraging results.
The Mustangs’ boys placed 7th at Lincoln Valley Course in West Marshall with a score of 357. PCM’s low golfer of the meet was Grant Van Veen with a score of 83. Van Veen finished 13th overall. Tate Tangeman placed second on the Mustangs with a score of 85. Jeff McDaniel rounded out the top three for PCM with a score of 91.
The Mustangs’ girls placed 12th at Oskaloosa with a score of 515. PCM had four golfers at the meet. Eleigh Davis placed first on the Mustangs in the 18-hole meet, finishing with a score of 112. Riley Johannes was second on PCM with a score of 124. The top three was rounded out by Tori Peterson with a score of 135.
Both golf squads will be back in action Monday. PCM’s boys will compete at their home invitational, while the girls will travel to Winterset.
PCM Boys Place 7th at Waukee, Girls 7th at Roland-Story
Both of PCM’s track squads came away with seventh-place finishes at their meets on the road Thursday.
The Mustangs’ girls finished with 53 points at the Norsemen Girls Relays at Roland-Story, three ahead of eighth-place South Hardin and a point and a half behind sixth-place Collins-Maxwell. PCM had two first-place finishes at the invitational. The Mustangs placed first in the 4×100 meter shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:10. Delaney Baird finished first in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.
The Mustangs’ boys finished with 44 team points in the Waukee Boys Invitational, nine behind sixth-place Treynor. PCM had one first-place finish in the meet, which came in the 200 meter dash. Aidan Anderson placed first with a time of 22.95 seconds.
Both track squads will be back in action Monday. PCM’s girls will have their home invitational, while the boys will travel to Saydel.
