The Indianola City Council approved preliminary plats for several new housing developments, at their most recent meeting, approving over 100 lots for new home building. Interim City Manager Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the preliminary plat allows the planning process to proceed, and from this point on the developer will draw up more detailed plans which will be reviewed by the city.
“Those plans include where the utilities are going to go, how deep the utilities are going to go, exactly where they will go, where the streetlights will go, how thick the pavement will be, things like that we will look at. We will administratively review those plans with our partners and department heads, get those approved, then at that point construction can begin on those subdivisions.”
Dissell said construction could possibly begin later this summer and into the fall, which will then go back to the council to decide whether to move forward.
