warning-4

Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings impacted south central Iowa Saturday evening. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on the air twice, first from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. and again from 7:15 until 8:30, with live updates from five staff members and from Weatherology meteorologists. Strong winds in excess of 60 MPH were reported, but the major population centers in Marion and Warren Counties were largely spared the worst, for the exception of Norwalk. Brief downpours were also reported, and added to the 1-2 1/2″ of rain that has fallen this week across the region. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air for any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning for any portion of Marion and Warren Counties.
