The Indianola School Board met in regular session Tuesday evening, which included multiple public comments from parents and community members speaking out regarding the district’s proposed “rating” program for books in the school libraries.
The board accepted the low bid of nearly $6.6 million regarding the Auxiliary Services Building Project after tabling the item at their last meeting to receive more information, after the bid came in approximately $600,000 over the projected amount. The board also accepted the bid of $336,000 for the Middle School Renovation Project, and held a discussion regarding the Teacher Retention Bonuses.
The board also received reports from the curriculum, finance, and facilities committee meetings, as well as reviewed the report from the Teacher Quality Committee Meeting. To listen to the public comments, click below.
