Four sports are in action today for Knoxville. The Panthers will head back to Moravia for another 18 hole boys golf meet. The Panthers will be joining 20 other teams including area teams Pella, Pleasantville and Melcher-Dallas and five of the other South Central Conference members. The Panthers tennis squads will play Albia. The boys head to Albia while the girls are at home at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts. Coach Nick DeMoss tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the early season tough schedule against the likes of Norwalk and Pella and Tuesday’s win over Grinnell will hopefully get his team ready for what lies ahead this season including the conference meet next week.
DeMoss: “We played a couple of toughest opponents we’re likely going to play. Most of those teams have more experience at the 3, 4, and 5 players than we do, and we’ll hope we can compete and challenge for the conference.
The boys track and field squad heads to PCM for a meet. The Panthers are coming off a 3rd place finish at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Tuesday where they came back with three 1st place medals. The Panthers will be joined by Melcher-Dallas and Pleasantville from the area.
