Norwalk Girls Tennis Moved to Today
Due to rainy weather in the forecast, Norwalk’s girls’ tennis match at Indianola was postponed.
The Warriors’ match with the Indians will take place today at 2:00 PM. Norwalk will be looking for their fourth match win of the season and their third Little Hawkeye Conference match win of the year. Stay tuned to KNIA for the latest updates surrounding Norwalk Sports.
Norwalk Girls Golf Places Fourth at Winterset Invite
Norwalk’s girls’ golf squad placed fourth at their invitational in Winterset Monday afternoon.
The Warriors finished with a team score of 435, which is ten strokes better than what they shot in their last meet at Oskaloosa. Emily Juergens finished as Norwalk’s low golfer, placing seventh overall with a score of 96. Juergens’ 96 is the lowest 18-hole score she has this season. Norwalk finished behind three teams, including Winterset and Grinnell.
Norwalk will be back in action today for a Little Hawkeye Conference dual meet at Newton today. The meet at Westwood Golf Course gets underway at 4:15 PM.
Norwalk Girls Soccer Shuts Out Winterset
Norwalk’s girls’ soccer squad maintains their undefeated record and No. 1 in Class 2A ranking with a 3-0 victory over Winterset Monday night.
The Warriors improved their record to 11-0 on the season and also recorded their fourth consecutive shutout. Three different Warriors came away with goals and assists on the night. Norwalk’s goals came from Braelyn Clark, Addison Burch, and Jocelyn Bice. The Warriors’ assists came from Clark, Marin Randall, and Reagan Holtorf.
Norwalk will be back in action along with the boys’ soccer squad for a Little Hawkeye Conference showdown against Grinnell today. The matches get underway at 5:30 PM.
Norwalk Track Competes in Little Hawkeye Conference Meet
Norwalk’s track and field squads will be back on the track to compete in their Little Hawkeye Conference meet at Oskaloosa today.
The Warriors’ boys are coming off winning the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational Thursday and having various athletes compete in the Drake Relays last weekend. Norwalk has never finished below fourth in any of their meets this season, and they look to continue that trend today. The Warriors’ most recent fourth-place finish was at Waukee back on April 21st.
The Warriors’ girls are coming off also having athletes competing at the Drake Relays this past weekend. Norwalk placed fourth in the Carlisle Wildcat Relays Thursday in their last meet. The Warriors have not finished below fourth in any of their meets this season. They will be looking for their first first-place finish since April 25th at Winterset. Coach Charity Campbell tells KNIA Sports that she is still looking for her first Little Hawkeye Conference Meet championship in her 23 years at the helm.
“That meet is always going to be tough. It’s never easy, never a cakewalk. After 23 years of coaching the Little Hawkeye Conference, I am still looking for my first one. We’re always in pursuit.”
The meet at the Lacey Sports Complex in Oskaloosa gets underway at 4:30 PM.
