Dutch Top Kohawks in Spring Triathlon Dual
In its only competitive action of the spring, the Central College women’s triathlon team defeated Coe College in a dual Tuesday afternoon. Central’s four athletes compiled 16 points in the team standings while Coe’s two athletes totaled five points. Pella High graduate Lindsey Blommers was the individual champion, completing the course in 59 minutes, .07 seconds. It was a non-traditional triathlon as the athletes swam 500 meters inside the Pella Pool before driving out to Roberts Creek in the Lake Red Rock Area. The athletes then did a 15-kilometer bike ride and 3.5-kiometer run. All transitions were untimed.
