The Knoxville Hospital and Clinics are planning a capital campaign that will help in expanding and improving their facilities. CEO Kevin Kincaid spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the project.

“We are looking at a 21 million dollar project. The emergency room portion will cost around 3.5 million dollars, and you are probably wondering where the rest of the money is going. One of the big areas we are hitting includes an additional operating room. Operating room construction is some of the most expensive construction, due to the complexity of the infrastructure and the technical aspects.”

Other areas that are being expanded include a new Cancer Treatment Center, a new visiting Specialty Clinic, expanding the Mental Health rooms, and other areas. The project was anticipated to break ground this spring but due to supply issues, it is slated to begin next spring.
