A stellar 43 car field for the 410s brought in the likes of Tyler Courtney, Rico Abreu, and Carson Macedo, but the story of the night may have been the final race of the evening when Scotty Johnson grabbed his first career win at the Knoxville Raceway in the Pro Sprints make up feature from two weeks ago. Johnson is lucky to be alive and able to drive a sprint car as he was severely burned two years ago in his race shop and doctors thought he would never race again, or even live through the ordeal. Johnson took off from the front row and led all 15 laps. He told KNIA/KRLS Sports he was just hoping the race would end so he could celebrate.

Johnson “The crew worked so hard to get the car better, because we went backwards last week, and I was just praying to God that those laps would clock off, but it just feels so good to be here right now.”

In the regularly scheduled Pro Sprints Race, Mike Mayberry won for just the 2nd time at Knoxville when he took the lead after a restart. Clint Garner was doing Clint Garner things in the 360 A-Main as he caught Terry McCarl in lapped traffic and used that traffic to get around McCarl for the win, and in the 410s Carson Macedo, who wondered in after the World of Outlaws canceled their show in Eldora earlier in the week and took full advantage as he passed Justin Henderson late to steal the win. Next week there will again be four feature races as the 360s make up their rained out event.
