PCM’s track and field squads came away with top-six finishes in their meet at Pella, while the soccer squad came away with a victory over Albia.
The Mustangs’ girls placed fourth with a team score of 62 points, two ahead of fifth-place Grinnell. PCM’s top finish came in the shuttle hurdle relay. Delaney Baird, Kate McClellan, Belle Hudnut and Chelsea Bird finished second with a time of 1:09.32. The Mustangs’ boys finished sixth with a team score of 74 points, just a half a point behind fifth-place Oskaloosa. PCM got one first-place finish, which came from Aidan Anderson in the 100 meter dash. Anderson finished with a time of 11.46 seconds. PCM’s state-qualifying meet will be Thursday on their home track.
The Mustangs’ soccer squad got back in the win column with a 5-2 victory over Albia. The five goals by PCM is the second-most goals they have scored in a match behind six in their season-opening victory over Sigourney. The Mustangs got two goals from Tyler Kuecker. Ayden Helton, Justin Johnston, and Caden Boukamp.
PCM will look to get back to .500 in their next match Friday against Des Moines Chrsitian.
