The Knoxville School Board approved a proposal for part-time employee benefits. Knoxville School District Business Manager Craig Mobley spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the proposal.
“We brought a proposal to the board really looking for some ways to attract new employees and keep current ones. One group we were looking at was our bus drivers. It is not the easiest position to hire for our district, there are a lot of requirements involved including license and testing. So we are looking at different ways to add a benefit to help attract new employees.”
The proposal that was passed would be a shared cost for health and dental insurance with the district paying 50% of the monthly premiums and the employee paying the other 50%.
