The current Iowa Legislative session continues at the statehouse. School vouchers continue to be a big topic. State Representative Jon Thorup spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the issue.

“Depending on who you talk to, is it the voucher issue that is holding things up, some people say no, but I feel that is what is happening right now. I think that the Senate and definitely the Governor want to pass something this session with regards to the Vouchers.”

Thorup tells us if he sees this issue carrying over to next year.

“I definitely feel it will be something that will carry over. I feel people will continue to try and get this passed, but as far as this year goes, there are so many no votes in the House that I do not see this passing this year.”
