Norwalk Baseball Picks Up Second Straight Win

 

Norwalk’s baseball squad picked up their second consecutive win of the week, winning at Bondurant-Farrar Thursday night, 11-6.

 

This win also is the second consecutive game in which Norwalk has posted double-digit runs after being shut out in the first two games of the season. The Warriors have outscored Boone and Bondurant-Farrar 26-10 over the last two games. Norwalk will finish their first week of the season with a 2-2 record against four non-conference opponents.

 

Little Hawkeye Conference play for the Warriors begins Monday at home against Pella Christian.

 

Norwalk Boys Soccer Gets Playoff Victory Over Council Bluffs Lincoln

 

Norwalk’s boys’ soccer squad opened postseason play with a 6-0 shutout victory against Council Bluffs Lincoln Thursday night.

 

The Warriors’ six goals on the night is the second-highest goal total for Norwalk in a match. Their highest was seven back on the 3rd at Grinnell. With the win, Norwalk improves to 9-8 on their season and have won six of their last seven matches. Their wins have come against Newton, Des Moines Lincoln, Grinnell, Dallas Center-Grimes, Indianola, and now Council Bluffs Lincoln.

 

Norwalk has advanced to the second round of the playoffs, which will be Monday night in a rematch against Urbandale.
