Eagles Boys Soccer Downs Williamsburg in Substate Opener
The Pella Christian boys soccer team kicked off the Class 1A Substate 6 Tournament Thursday night with a 4-1 victory over Williamsburg.
The Eagles grabbed the early advantage as Camden Parker found the net off a give and go with Alejo Marcon. Theo Hugen added to the lead as he found himself in the right spot at the right time, scoring off a blocked shot from Marcon. The Raiders would cut the lead to 2-1 before the half on a corner kick that Williamsburg would head in. From there it would be all Eagles as it was Marcon’s turn to score. The senior netted the final two goals of the game midway through the half roughly five minutes apart.
With the win, Pella Christian advances to the Substate Semifinal round and will now travel to and face Gladbrook-Reinbeck Monday at 6 p.m.

The last Eagles win against the Wildcats came back in June of 2014.
The Eagles baseball team’s season opener at Carlisle tonight begins at 7:30 p.m.
