The Pella Christian Boys Soccer team faces maybe their toughest test of the season Monday night, as they travel to the Class 1A Substate 6 top-seed Gladbrook-Reinbeck for the semifinal round.

The Eagles defeated Williamsburg 4-1 Thursday to take on the Rebels for the first time in the Bound era. Gladbrook has lost just one match this season to North Fayette Valley, who is ranked #2 in Class 1A in the Bound Power Index. Having faced a tough schedule, Pella Christian head coach Jake Fancher believes his team is more than prepared for the challenge ahead.

“You know, I don’t like our conference schedules playing against some of those teams. It does prepare us for the postseason. I think playing against a Pella, playing against a DCG, playing against a Norwalk, we’ve seen people that are that good or better, so it it does prepare us for a team like Gladbrook-Reinbeck.”

Monday night’s Class 1A Substate 6 Semifinal match between Pella Christian and Gladbrook-Reinbeck begins at 6 p.m.
