The Knoxville Police Department held hotdogs and helmets on Thursday. Knoxville Police Officer Kyle Keller spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the event.

“It was a lot of fun. The weather was cold but not as cold as last year and we had a good turnout with a lot of smiles. I don’t know what the final numbers are on the number of helmets given out, but I saw a lot of kids wearing helmets. If you are listening to this and you did not get a helmet, please reach out to the Knoxville Police Department.”

Event Coordinator Angie Heartsill also spoke about the event.

“This event keeps getting bigger and bigger as we have more volunteers, more sponsors, and more support for the event. The weather held off and I saw a lot of smiling faces.”

Besides helmets, kids could get their bikes checked out as well.
