Several students from Knoxville High school participated in the Special Olympics in Ames recently. Knoxville High school Special Ed teacher Megan Richart spoke with KNIA/KRLS News about the experience.
“Our kids went up to Ames and competed in the soccer skills competition. There is a dribbling contest, a passing contest, and a shooting contest. The kids practiced at school, including on the turf leading up to the competition. We took seven kids to Ames and they competed with three kids finishing first, two finishing second, and two finishing third. It was a fun experience for the kids and adults that got to go.
