Coming off a season that ended in the American Rivers Conference tournament, the Central College volleyball team is set for a 28-game schedule in 2022.
The Dutch posted a 15-13 mark in 2021, including a 4-4 effort in American Rivers Conference matches. Central earned the No. 5 seed in the league tournament before losing in the quarterfinals.
The Dutch open the season with the annual Central-Grinnell Invitational September 2-3, where they are slated to face Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.), Marian University (Wis.) and Concordia College – Moorhead (Minn.). Central also closes the regular season at home with the Sutphen Invitational on October 28-29, where it will face Monmouth College (Ill.) and Wheaton College (Ill.).
Central will have weekend tournaments at St. Katherine University (Minn.) September 9-10 and Millikin University (Ill.) September 30-October 1. Road triangulars are set for September 17 at the Illinois Institute of Technology with Lake Forest College (Ill.) and October 15 at Webster University (Mo.) with Westminster College (Mo.).
The American Rivers Conference schedule starts at home for Central against Wartburg College on October 7. Coe College (October 8), Luther College (October 12) and Simpson College (October 26) also come to Pella.
Central travels to Buena Vista University (September 21), Nebraska Wesleyan University (September 27), the University of Dubuque (October 21) and Loras College (October 22) for its conference road matches.
The Dutch also host a non-conference home match against Augustana College (Ill.) on September 7. Non-conference road matches send the Dutch to Grinnell College on September 13, Benedictine University (Ill.) on September 17 and Cornell College on October 17.
