The City of Pella will celebrate Independence Day on the holiday this summer. Fourth of July Committee Director Paul Kingma says several activities, a parade, and fireworks return on Monday, July 4th, starting at 1 p.m. Among the scheduled festivities in Pella include:
– Swimming at the Pella Aquatic Center from 1 to 4 p.m.
– Fishing at Caldwell Park (poles and bait provided) from 3 to 5 p.m.
– Horse and Carriage Rides from 3 to 6 p.m. in Central Park
– Food Stands in Central Park from 3 to 8 p.m.
– Heroes Salute with vehicles on display from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. downtown
– Entertainment on the Tulip Toren: Martial Arts Demonstration from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the Dans Company from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
– Pella Community Art Center Crafts from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
– Parade (starts at Scholte Church, wraps around Central Park, goes south on Main Street) at 6 p.m.
– American Legion Service at 7:45 p.m. on the Tulip Toren
– Pella City Band performs at 8 p.m. on the Tulip Toren
– Fireworks at Madison Elementary at 10 p.m.
