The Pella City Council approved the final resolutions needed to transfer the non-profit Pella Community Ambulance into a city-run service at a special meeting Wednesday.
The council approved the final transfer agreement, service fees, and an offer of employment to current Pella Community Ambulance staff. The service is expected to run as it does now until the end of the year, before new agreements will be drafted with area townships and communities relying on the service outside of the Pella city limits.
A temporary advisory committee consisting of the current Pella Community Ambulance board was also approved, including: Dave Beukelman, Ryan Thoreson, Jonathan De Reus, Steve Van Wyk, Marty Racheter, and Mike Vermeer.
An amendment to a cost sharing agreement with RDP Holdings for the Southwest Truck Sewer Extension project, an award of a $1,051,466 contract for that construction (with the city paying $155,000), and temporary and perpetual easements related to the effort were all approved as well.
