According to the National Weather Service, heat index values are expected to top 100 in the afternoon and early evening hours, and could climb as high as 105. High humidity is expected to settle in, especially as scattered showers and storms may impact the region as well. The heat is expected to last long term, although conditions will be slightly more comfortable after Tuesday.
