An 18-year-old Indianola man has been charged with attempted murder in Des Moines stemming from an incident earlier this week.

According to the Des Moines Police Department, Dominique Taylor is accused of stabbing a 57-year-old female in the back after an argument. Taylor is the boyfriend of the victim’s boyfriend’s daughter, and was arguing with the victim in the parking lot outside of her residence, after which it turned physical and Taylor stabbed the woman and left the scene. The criminal complaint states Taylor became enraged after being punched in the face, and fled the scene throwing the bloody knife out of the car window.

The incident happened on the 3800 block of University Avenue in Des Moines, and Taylor is being held in the Polk County Jail.
