The Central College women’s cross country team took the top six places at the Lamb-Kohawk Invitational Friday evening, scoring a perfect 15 points to take the team title for the second straight year. Sophomore Mel McDermott won the first collegiate cross country race of her career, finishing in 24 minutes, 21 seconds over the 6,000-meter course to lead the Dutch to their first invitational victory of the season. Amanda Dunkin, a freshman from Pella, finished fourth in 25:33. Freshman Austin O’Brien finished fifth in the men’s 8,000-meter race in a time of 27:39 to lead the Central men to a second-place finish behind host Coe.
