The Indianola baseball team defeated Urbandale 8-6 Wednesday evening to qualify for the class 4A state tournament. The Indians earned 10 hits, including five extra-base hits to score their runs and led nearly the entire game, with pitchers Brady Blake and Kaden Ritchie stranding 10 Urbandale baserunners including leaving the bases loaded in the fifth and sixth innings.

The class 4A state tournament begins Tuesday at Duane Banks Baseball Stadium in Iowa City, with Indianola’s opponent yet to be determined as of Wednesday evening.
