A Knoxville man was killed in a crash between a car and a motorcycle Wednesday in Des Moines. Police say 39-year-old Jason Thomas Smith died as a result of the crash between a car and his motorcycle, which occurred on SE 14th and Watrous Avenue. Police responded to the crash around 7:30 p.m. First responders found Smith, who was driving the motorcycle, with critical injuries. Medics initiated life-saving measures and transported Smith to a local hospital. He later died of his injuries. Police say the car turned in front of him.
