The Knoxville community gave the Knoxville Little League team a send-off Saturday morning en route to the state tournament in Davenport. The caravan of cars took off from the Knoxville Middle School and they were led in escort by the Knoxville Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Department along with Knoxville Fire and Rescue.
Rachel Garner, President of the Knoxville Little League has a message for the community:
“Thanks for everybody for being so supportive of the boys. These children feel so special and we’re lucky to live in such a wonderful town.”
Fans lined the street on Highway 14 north around the old Pamida parking lot and DeYarman as the children and coaches left town. The Knoxville Little League continues to fundraise to help pay for the trip.
