indianola-8

Counting down the top 10 moments of the Indianola athletics year of 2021-22, continuing with number 9.

The Indianola volleyball team went through a packed Little Hawkeye Conference season in the fall, ending with only one loss in the regular season and tying for the conference championship, their only blemish being to class 4A state qualifier Oskaloosa. Senior Emma Kluver tells KNIA Sports this year’s senior class tried to take the lessons they learned as underclassmen and pass it along, which shows the culture of the team is one of success.

“As a senior this year, all the past leaders have really shown us communication is really important. We’ve also tried to tell all the younger girls that they can communicate and be a leader, and that is really important in our program this year. We are passing that down through to the next athletes on the team.”

The Indians went 26-15 on the season, making the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament semifinals and having their season end in the regional semifinal.
