The Indianola City Council held a study session regarding the paving of South K St. at their most recent regular meeting. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News K St. is a secondary access road to vital areas of the community, and is one that has been a high priority for the council for a long time. Reeves said there are challenges with the topography and the trail system around the street, and city staff wanted input from council on how to proceed.
“The main focus of discussion was how to best move forward with funding that project and taking care of the assessments that are necessary in order to make sure we are treating people equally and fairly along that route. Those who benefit would pay proportionately to the benefit they receive in that area.”
