The unemployment rate remained low in June, according to the latest data from Iowa Workforce Development.
In Marion County, the percentage is at 1.9. That’s a slight increase from 1.7% in May and a decrease from 3.5% in June 2021. There are 19,310 employed residents and 380 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.
In Warren County, the percentage slightly increased to 2.3%. That unemployment rate was 2% in May and 4.3% in June 2021. There are 29,300 employed residents and 700 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 2.6 percent in June, down from 2.7 percent in May and from 4.5 percent one year ago. The June national unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent for the fourth consecutive month.
