Knoxville Community Service Officer Meredith Clark, tells KNIA-KRLS, she has been in her position for the past two years.

Clark says a part of her job is to help the city look sharp, appearance wise. That includes making sure people have yards mowed and looking nice especially when visitors come in from out of town for big events such as the Nationals.

Clark says Nationals keeps members of the police department working hard. “Nationals for everyone is super busy and the police department is no exception. We do a lot of golf cart permits and out at the track. It’s just a busy time.”

The job also includes helping with the health and safety of citizens. During winter months she also makes sure sidewalks are shoveled and cleared off in a timely manner.

Clark says the Knoxville Police Reserves will be holding a special raffle during the Knoxville Nationals, called “Back the Blue Raffle.” A portion of the funds from the raffle will help pay for funds for training, uniforms and ammunition along with other items.
