Looking back on the top 10 sports moments of the 2021-22 Pleasantville school year, our #4 moment comes from a trio of wrestlers qualifying for the State Meet at Wells Fargo Arena on February 12th.
The Trojans’ Caleb Cook at 126 lbs. won his first-place match over Garrett Cole of Van Meter by fall, guaranteeing his spot at the State Meet. Kitt Lundy at 132 lbs. qualified for State by winning his second-place matchup by no contest over Van Meter’s Mason Drake. At 160 lbs., Dillen Ammons won his second-place match over Isaiah Smith of Interstate-35 by fall, to clinch his spot in the State Tournament.
At State, Cook and Lundy each won a consolation match to earn three points apiece to give Pleasantville a 54th place team finish out of 83 teams in Class 1A.
