The top spot on our countdown of the best sports moments at PCM during the 2021-2022 school year, saw hard work and determination overcome a devastating injury as Aiden Anderson returned to the gridiron in week three of the 2021 football season.
As a junior, Anderson rushed for 768 yards on 70 carries before a broken leg cut his year short. A tough recovery that faced a few setbacks ensued for Anderson. That recovery set up a much-anticipated return to the football field for Aiden. That return came on September 10th against No. 5 in Class 1A Pella Christian.
Anderson wasted little time proving he was 100%, leading the Mustangs offense with 131 yards rushing on 26 carries and receiving yards with 43 on a pair of catches. Highlighting the return was a 43-yard run that set up PCM’s lone touchdown in the game.
Anderson capped off his senior year and remarkable comeback by leading the Mustangs with 849 rushing yards on 108 carries.
