With two runners for the Melcher-Dallas Cross Country Program this fall, it gives both runners a chance to work out together and help each other. That is the hope for Coach Amy Stuart. Sophomore Addison Wadle will be joined by freshman Hailey Stegman. Stuart tells KNIA Sports Wadle has a chance to be a leader early in her high school career and while the expectations are tempered at this time, the hope is by the end of the season many of the larger goals can be met.
Stuart: “I just have to remind her, the goal is to stay healthy and finish the season and we’re not going to worry too much about time right now, we’ll build to that. I think it’s nice she has a teammate so she doesn’t have to put it all on herself and hopefully by the end of the season many of those early season goals can be met.”
Both Wadle and Stegman will start their respective seasons next week at a meet in Albia.
