The unemployment rate remained low in July, according to the latest data from Iowa Workforce Development.

In Marion County, the percentage remains at 1.9, staying the same from June and a decrease from 3.2% in July 2021. There are 18,920 employed residents and 380 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.

In Warren County, the percentage slightly increased to 2.5%. That unemployment rate was 2.3% in June and 3.7% in July 2021. There are 28,600 employed residents and 700 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.

Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 2.5 percent in July, down from 2.6 percent in June and from 4.4 percent one year ago. The July national unemployment rate decreased to 3.5 percent.
