Following the passing of Bob Vermeer last week, the corporation bearing his last name celebrated his life with the community to remember the impactful Chair Emeritus and former CEO of the company.

Vermeer died at 78 years old last Wednesday after a battle with cancer. Bob was the second child of Vermeer founder Gary, joining the company in 1974. He served as CEO from 1989 to 2003 and Co-CEO from 2003 with his sister Mary until his retirement in 2014.

A community celebration of life service was held on Wednesday at the Vermeer Global Pavilion and featured worship songs, prayer, and speakers from his family and friends, remembering his decades of service to a variety of organizations outside of Vermeer and throughout Pella.
