Three area cross country squads ran at Albia on Monday with the Knoxville boys coming out on top in the team standings for the first time in a few seasons for the Panthers, taking the meet by just two points over Albia 41-43. Isaac Rankin led the Panthers over the line for the second straight meet winning in a time of 17:02. Two other Panthers in the top ten were Ezra Schmidt in 5th with a time of 19:06, and Kaden McGill in 10th with a time of 19:40. Ethan Russell was 12th, Reid Sinclair crossed in 13th while Anthony Bailey and Ethan Morgan were 17th and 18th respectively and Mason Green finished 20th. Twin Cedars did not have enough runners to score as Noah Fee crossed in 38th place with a time of 23:55. On the girls side, Knoxville was 4th in the meet led by Natalie Collins with a time of 22:54. Janae Baker finished in the top 20 coming home in 18th with a time of 24:13. Twin Cedars did not have enough to score, but the Sabers were led by Cheyanne Bruns in 22nd place in a time of 24:43. It was also an impressive outing for the Melcher-Dallas runners as Addison Wadle and Hailey Stegman finished in the top 25 with Stegman placing 19th in a time of 24:27 and Wadle finishing 24th in a time of 25:04. Knoxville and Melcher-Dallas both head to Wayne on Thursday, while Twin Cedars runs at Pekin also on Thursday.
