The Knights of Columbus in Pella wrap up the 24th Annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities with their 3rd annual telethon event. Several performers and interviews with those impacted by the fundraiser are gathering at St. Mary’s Catholic Church today from 1 to 8 p.m. Members of the local Knights of Columbus group are calling on businesses and other individuals to raise money for the Pella and Pella Christian Special Education departments, Christian Opportunity Center, 818 Forward with Faith, and the Iowa Special Olympics. Joe Lickteig with the Knights of Columbus says they were the top Knights fundraiser in Iowa last year, and the group is working hard again to provide critical support to those organizations.

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be at the event, with several interviews airing this afternoon featuring local individuals who work for those organizations or have family members with intellectual disabilities, as well as local entertainers participating in a variety show.
