The Knoxville Cross Country Squads will head south to the Wayne Invitational today. The boys are coming off a 1st place finish at Albia on Monday on the heels of Isaac Rankin’s win…his second in as many events. The girls while rebuilding are hoping to improve their times as the young Panthers run tonight. Senior boys runner Kaden McGill and Junior Girls Runner Natalie Collins both tell KNIA/KRLS Sports the early season is about getting everyone running in a pack at the front.

Kaden: “We’ve had a really good season on the boys end. Isaac Rankin is doing phenomenally, and we’re just trying to get the rest of the guys to run in a pack.”
Natalie: “We’re just trying to push everyone up to the front group to get some points.”

Find an interview with Collins and McGill that aired during this week’s Radio Sports Page Wednesday at 6:00 and Thursday at 10:00 on kniakrls.com. Meanwhile, Melcher-Dallas will also run as the two girls runners in Hailey Stegman and Addison Wadle had impressive performances in their season openers at Albia on Monday. Stegman had a top 20 finish in her first career run while Wadle was just outside of the top 20.
