The Twin Cedars Cross Country Squad will head to Ottumwa to run at the Pekin meet. The Saber boys, while small and inexperienced, are continuing to progress early in the season. Coach Theresa Davis tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the boys are also using cross country to get in shape for other sports they will participate in later in the school year.
Davis: “They run a lot. I think it’s going to help in their other sports like basketball, and Noah mentioned to me that he may be my distance runner, so even track and field. They’re doing well and hopefully they’ll keep improving as the season goes.”
The girls were led by Cheyanne Bruns on Monday in Albia. First races are set to begin at 5:30.
