The Knoxville Rotary Club has taken on a new task this year.

It’s putting up the American flags in town for the holidays. It was a project that the Lion’s Club did for many years, but the Rotary is now in charge of the project which calls for the flag celebration lining Highway 14 for Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day.

Jake Hughes, President of the Knoxville Rotary tells KNIA/KRLS News, “This year is the first year that Rotary has undertaken a new project. It’s not new to Knoxville, but it is new under the guidance of the Rotary Club here in town. That is the project of lining the Highway 14 corridor on certain holidays with the American flags you see.”

The Rotary will be having a few more announcements in the near future stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest on the Rotary Club.
