The 1-0 PCM football team will play at home tonight as they host the Newton Cardinals, who are also 1-0. 

The Mustangs opened the season last week with a strong road win over Davis County 48-14. PCM dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball en route to the win. The Mustangs were led by quarterback Kaleb DeVries who was 5-of-7 passing for 156 yards and two scores and Adrien Robbins with 11 carries for 127 yards and two touchdowns, Donovan Nickelson paced the PCM defense with 6.5 tackles.

Newton was balanced offensively in their big win over the Knoxville Panthers. Quarterback Brody Bauer was 13-of-19 passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Cody Klein was the leading rusher with 10 carries for 142 yards and two scores. Nate Lampe and Curtis Payne each had a touchdown reception for the Cardinals.

A year ago when Newton and PCM faced each other on the field, the game went down to the wire with the Cardinals coming out on top 10-8.
