At the Lynnville-Sully Invitational Thursday, the Pella Christian cross country teams continued their strong seasons as they won both of the team titles, while Twin Cedars’ Rylee Dunkin won her third meet of the season.

The Eagles girls team had two of the top five finishers in the meet and had all seven runners who scored points finish in the top 30. Bailey Vos came in second place (22:19), while Jaclyn Holmes finished in fourth place (22:30). Emma DeBoef just missed the top 10, placing 11th (24:10). Rounding out the scoring for Pella Christian was Katy Roose in 21st (25:26), Julia Shmalcs in 22nd (25:49), Karis Fikkert in 25th (26:16), and Meredith Van Wyk in 30th (27:03).

The Twin Cedars girls cross country team came in 5th place as a team Thursday. Rylee Dunkin took home the top spot at Lynnville-Sully, with a time of 20:58. Cheyanne Bruns also placed inside the top five, coming in 5th place with a time of 22:55. Also scoring for the Sabers was AnnaBelle Luckey in 46th (31:32), Sophia Cowan in 49th (33:50), and Jayden Weldon in 52nd (00:38:03).

Much like the Pella Christian girls, the #11 ranked Eagles boys had three of the top five finishers in their race and had all seven-point scorers finish in the top 25. Class 1A’s #14 ranked individual runner Kaden Van Wyngarden won his second meet of the week Thursday with a time of 17:25. Ben Gosselink (18:26) and Tysen DeVries (18:32) finished just six seconds apart in 4th and 5th place respectively. Also scoring for the Eagles was Deacon Branderhorst in 16th (19:48), Shaun Oosterheert in 18th (20:00), Paxton Bouma in 23rd (20:48), and Logan Gallaher in 25th (20:55).

The Pella Christian cross country teams next run at PCM on Monday, while Twin Cedars is off until the EBF Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday.
