The Pella Christian volleyball team downed Newton for the second time in the last six days Tuesday night, this time with a 3-1 Little Hawkeye Conference win on Eagle Lane.

While the Eagles struggled to play up to the level that they proved capable this weekend, they did just enough to down the Cardinals 25-14, 21-25, 25-23, and 25-20. Chloe Huisman finished the night with five kills, 33 assists, three aces, and eight digs. Ema Zula recorded eight kills, 11 digs, and an ace, while Cara Veenstra added seven kills and a team high four blocks. While they came away from the match with the victory, Pella Christian head coach Tammi Wight said that they will need to play better next week if they want to extend their winning streak beyond seven matches.

The Eagles record improved to 13-8 overall and 2-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Pella Christian has the rest of this week off and returns to action on the road at Oskaloosa on Tuesday.
