Little has changed locally with drought conditions, according to the latest national report. The U.S. Drought Monitor still shows severe drought in most of Marion and Warren Counties, with moderate conditions in areas that received heavy rainfall from thunderstorms in mid-September. Little-to-no relief is in sight, according to the National Weather Service, as rain chances are unlikely in the forecast and mild fall-like conditions will continue with highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the 40s expected for the better part of the next week.
